Just a quick note to direct those interested to a teaser from The White-Luck Warrior that Pat has posted over at The Hotlist. You can find it here…
Just a few weeks now.
Very excited. Looking forward to learning more about the metaphysics of this place.
Hot damn! Looking forward to re-reading book 4 in preparation…
“the circuit between watcher and watched that was the foundation of all reality, sorcerous or not”
I like that!
That was awesome, Bakker. I’m surprised that Pat said you weren’t happy with how that scene was written but then again you are my favorite author for a reason; that was unbelievably written in my opinion and, yet, you still want to push the boundaries. Made me really unhappy with my own writing for about ten minutes. I figure I’m always going to be striving for a writing capacity like yours and other authors who’ve influenced me, and I should push on regardless. Thanks, Bakker. Epic shit.
I have to add that the last two sentences sent shivers down my spine. What a – well, not a villain, but what a thing, what an entity, what an idea the No-God is.
Very nice. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll be picking this up as soon as I can.
Your prose is amazing! It’s dense and accessible, complex yet succinct. I often feel a strange high after reading your work. Seriously, like euphoria drunk.
What do I see?
WHAT DO I SEE?
Well, I’m so glad you asked, Mr. Mog-Pharau…
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Will you do the fandango?
Thunderbolt and lightning
Very very frightening me
Galileo Figaro – Magnifico!
Damn you Scott! You only give answers that lead to more questions.
Is there a tour of any sort planned for White Luck Warrior? I haven’t seen anything one way or the other which suggests “no”, but I’d like to be sure.
Looking forward to it.
Any solid release date yet? Amazon.co.uk says 14th of April for the hardback, and Overlook Press says “soon”.
This book is easily going to be up there as one of the highlights of my year.
When I read your stuff, Bakker, it feels like I am reading what is in my own heart but have no words for.
Several weeks is not that long, is it? Is it?
Thanks for the exert. Can not wait for the book.
Keep it comming scott….
just finished arc… The ? just keep coming.picked up wise man fears and crippled god this week Scott, Read yours first, you own fantasy!!!!Unholy Consult, are you kidding me im drooling…You write i read,, have 4brothers have copies for everyone ordered. My families mad too…..Cnauru
So psyched for this! Re-reading the first four and forcing them on everyone.
I am vehemently anticipating this next book of yours. The Prince of Nothing is one of my favorite fantasy series and I really enjoyed The Judging Eye, but I do so crave more.
Awesome. Tbh, I still need to finish the 4th book first though.😮
This just in, the literature war continues:
Can’t wait! At first I was annoyed at the publishing delay but then realized I’ll be finishing up my major workload for the spring right about that time, freeing me up… to again enter Earwa. Can’t…
I am putting my re-read of the Malazan series on hold so I can re-read PoN and the Judging Eye and hopefully be finished by the time White-Luck Warrior comes out.
Bakker, thought you might be interested. At my Uni we’re too lazy to write our own articles for the school paper so we poach them from other universities. I guess; not really sure on the mechanics. Regardless, Brandon University in Manitoba did a plug/review of TDTCB under How to Waste Your Time Wisely. I may post the article later, if I can find a link. Peace all. Hope everyone is enjoying their Second Apocalypse re-reads as much as I am. Of my life, it’s Round #9 on PON and have just finished round #3 of TJE. Can’t wait for WLW.
Just pre-ordered my WLW today – it will be shipped directly to my house asap after April 5th, the apparent release date in Canada. Thanks Bakker, can’t wait. Seems unreal to be anticipating a single other person’s words so much. I’m looking to forward to see if Disciple has influenced your Earwa writing, as I thoroughly enjoyed the character vehicle you’ve developed in Manning. Neuropath seemed very complimentary to PON after all – Neuropaths very much heightened my abject terror of the Skin Spies. Btw, keep us readers updated about the writing class. Thanks,
